Scuba Mask

The scuba mask is what allows the diver to enjoy the beauty of the marine environment they are exploring. There are many different masks available today, so it is recommended that one tries a variety of mask before purchasing one. This will ensure that you find one that not only fits properly, but is also affordable.

A scuba mask typically comes in one of two different design styles: 3 pane and 4 pane. A 3 pane version has a single lens in front with a side window on either side. A 4 pane version has the front lens split in two (more like goggles) and has a side window on either side.

When trying on a scuba mask, make sure that the silicon skirt forms a tight seal against your face. This is the most important element of a diving mask because if water leaks in, it impairs your ability to see. To check the fit, place the mask against your face without the straps around your head. Taking a quick breath through your nose should create enough suction to hold it in place without the straps.
